Summer Internship in Health Policy with the National Academy for
State Health Policy

Intern will provide research assistance, analysis and writing on a variety
of topics including Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance
Program, health systems performance, behavioral health, and maternal and
child health.
The Association of Hispanics serving Health professional Schools (HSHPS)

Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
UF’s Center for African Studies has fellowships available to students
combining graduate work in any academic discipline with African area and
language studies. Fellowships are offered for any of the regularly taught
languages (Akan, Amharic, Arabic, Swahili, Wolof, Xhosa, and Yoruba). Fellowships
provide a stipend of $15,000 per academic year and cover the cost of tuition
and fees (12 credits per semester)
Summer Fellowships are also available for students wishing to undertake
intensive African language study in any US Dept. of Education approved program
including Group Projects Abroad programs.

Field Studies in Developing Countries: Jamaica
Infectious Disease Surveillance and Control
An intensive 9-day course from August 7-15th in infectious disease and surveillance
in Kingston, Jamaica that emphasizes applied public health with supervised
field projects by teams of University of Alabama, San Diego State, Rice,
Jamaican Ministry of Health and the University of the West Indies faculty.
The primary focus of the work is vector ecology and biology, infectious
disease surveillance and control, and water and sanitation in a developing
country.
The course is open to students and professional from other institutions
that accept transfer credit from one of these institutions.
COSTS: $2,000 (if deposit paid by April1st) does not include 3-credit hours
and tuition fees)
