Concurrent Master’s Degrees
back to Collaborative Degree Programs
An MPH degree can be a useful addition to many other academic programs. Since public health and health policy are carried out through numerous public entities and private firms, an MPH degree can serve many careers very well. The University of Florida provides a framework for an individual in any master’s program to develop a concurrent degree program with the MPH. These concurrent master’s programs are developed on an individual basis and must have the written approval of the representative of each academic unit involved and the dean of the Graduate School. Nine credits of coursework from one degree may be applied, with Graduate School approval, toward meeting the requirements of the second degree. The forms required for approval of the concurrent program and petition for acceptance of nine credits of coursework in a second master’s program may be found at http://gradschool.rgp.ufl.edu/pdf-files/concurrent-degree-program-form.pdf.
Whenever appropriate, the MPH program will work enthusiastically with individual students to develop these collaborative degree programs.
