Public Health External Advisory Committee
Charge: To provide guidance and feedback to the dean and
faculty of the College of Public Health and Health Professions on the roles,
responsibilities and interactions of the college with the public health
community in north Florida and the southeastern United States.
Specific issues to be addressed by the committee include but are not limited to:
- Critical public health priorities
- Needs for professional continuing education
- Skills and knowledge required of public health graduates
- Approaches to evaluating the effectiveness of the college’s public health educational programs
- Assessment of the extent to which our graduates’ skills conform with the needs of the field
- Career opportunities for graduates
- Opportunities for faculty involvement in the community and for community involvement in the college
Membership: Fifteen leaders from the public health community representing a wide range of disciplines, agencies, and organizations and the members of the Public Health Executive Committee.
Term of appointment: Two years
Frequency of meetings: Semi-annual
